Photo-a-Day - March 2012 - Day 29: Feet
Wandering around Pleasanton, California with my friend Carol, I saw this wonderful, hand-made fairie godmother doll (with chair). I immediately fell in love with her, particularly her face, hands and long, elegant feet.
Although I'm not a collector of dolls, I do love fantasy. I did everything I could to talk myself out of buying her as she was very expensive. My best argument, I thought, was that I had nothing on which to place her. Never tempt the universe! We went to a shop two doors down and there was the perfect little tilt-top table at very reasonable price.
She has been re-named Fairie Grandmother, in memory of my Gram Nissen who is always with me, and she lives in my bedroom, watching over me every night as I sleep.
Oh, and her shoes, which actually do fit her? Those are hand-made leather shoes with ivory buttons that were my mom's when she was a toddler. Always listen to the universe; it doth provide.
