Day 11 - Someone you talked to today:
My dear friend Carol. She and her family and reached out and made me part of their family. It doesn't get better than that.
Day 12 - Fork:
My paternal Grandfather Roberts, after he retired, loved to tinker and made my parents these hot dog forks. The shafts are parts from Victorian gas chandeliers to which he welded hot dog forks. Doesn't everyone have brass hot dog forks? Thank heaven my mom gave these to me years ago as there's no way I could fly back with them now.
The maternal Grandmother Nissen, was an amazing woman who considered herself a professional housewife. She could do it all, and do it wonderfully. That included baking; the heavy porcelain rolling pin and the Mason jars came from her original Hoosier cabinet.
Day 13 - Sign:
About 5 years ago, this local corner liquor store finally got a new sign. However, this is a lesson in that if English is not your first language, it's best to have someone else do your proofreading.
Day 14 - Clouds:
I cheated a bit for this photo. The weather predicted several days of much-needed rain moving in, so I took this picture at sunrise looking back to the Oakland hills in advance of the weather.
Day 15 - Car:
What can I say? I love my Jeep!
